I’ve been wanting to incorporate urban and brutalist elements into my paintings, so I’ve been learning how to draw buildings and machinery.
Kowloon Walled City is especially fascinating—the photos I’ve seen look like something straight out of (the original) Ghost in the Shell.

Imagine how claustrophobic it must have felt in those alleyway corridors—probably humid, with the sweet stink of sewage, cooking, and cigarettes hanging in the air. I imagine it would’ve been hard to breathe.
