June 2025 Change Log

There is something oddly satisfying about creating and running a website. I used to do freelance web development before I went back to college to finish up my computer science degree. I had a change of heart after graduating and realized that I would rather put my creative energy into my art while working in a more simplistic field, but I’m still fascinated by internet technology and culture. Running a website is one of the ways I stay connected to the tech-savvy side of my mind.

I’ve made a couple of stylistic changes to my store and its related pages primarily for accessibility reasons. Overall, I want my site to have a rudimentary feel to it, but Aethyrmart needs to be as clean and accessible as possible. One more thing to note about the store is that pricing has also gone up to account for local tax rates.

There have been some updates to my portfolio, as well. I decided to rename this page to “Gallery” so I can showcase some of my photography and I combined the pieces in “Lurid” and “Abyss” into Abyss of Hallucinations. I split them up initially because I was self-conscious at my lack of portfolio-worthy artwork, but all of those pieces fall into a specific season of my life as an artist, so it seems appropriate to group them into the same series.

In non-website related news, I’m getting into video content! I’m still pretty nervous about showing my face on camera, but I’m getting there… My goal is to start streaming for 1 hour a week on Kick and YouTube by the end of the summer. I purchased a DJI camera and a strap so I can record myself working from a “first person” perspective. I’ve never streamed before so I’m still working through all the logistics as this is all new territory for me. I may have to settle for only using this format for YouTube videos and having a fixed camera on me while I stream.

Expect to see more video content, plus some progress pictures from my new, currently untitled, series. I’m almost done with the first painting, and I have 3 smaller portraits, plus another large painting in the works.
